Transport Assessment
A key planning requirement for every development involves the provision of safe access, whilst dependent upon the scale of development proposed, a complex assessment of the impact upon traffic flows in the immediate vicinity of the site and the main feeder roads and junctions throughout the area may be required, along with the design and incorporation of measures to encourage travel by sustainable means.
MTC has considerable experience in this area and traffic / pedestrian impact studies form part of our standard proposals on all site appraisals.
Traffic Appraisal & Assessment
Solutions can be designed for a range of traffic movement problems from simple junction improvements to increase capacity to the design of new roundabouts and signalised junctions to accommodate the required traffic flows.
MTC take the process from initial discussions with the Highway Agency/Local Highway Authority through the solution design process, producing planning documents such as Transport Assessments and Transport Statements, providing detailed design drawings, submitting information required to pass Safety Audit, through to the site management during construction under Section 38 or 278 Agreements.
All our design solutions give strong consideration to the potential for pedestrian and cycle links to provide dedicated safe options to encourage non car users along with assessment of the viability of Public Transport to provide a means of travel at individual developments along with the production of development specific Travel Plans where required.
